The XFEL Project Office XPO @Desy provides:

support of the project management in planning and controlling of the project
coordination of the the project internal reporting
coordination of the project reporting to external partners and funding agencies
support of the cost planning and financial tracking for the entire project structure
support of the work package leaders and planning and reporting issues
customization and maintenance of the XFEL project management system (MSPE4XFEL) @Desy
maintain a consistent project plan for the XFEL across all work packages
