You try to open your project in the professional client, but you get a message that the project can only be opened read-only because a previous checkin did not complete or there is a pending write-lock.
This happens sometimes, when the local cache of MS Project is not cleared properly after a check-in. The client reads from the local cache the information, that the check-in is still pending, while in fact the check-in was complete.

You try to open your project in the professional client, but you get a message box saying that the project is already checked out to to you (or someone else).
This sometimes occurs, if you close the professional client window with the plan still open inside (by clicking on the red x in the top right corner of the window). The client closes before the check-in process is completed and the project stays checked out. This also happens if for some reason you shutdown the client via the task manager with a plan still open, e.g. shutting down windows with a running MS Project session.
ActiveX controls are needed to display the project information in the Project Web Access via Internet Explorer. Sometimes, you are asked to update those control, but the installation fails.
The Toolbar Customizer we are using to modify the MS Project menu to the scope needed for the XFEL is not loaded. The customizer creates an extra menu in MS Project all the way to the left, which lets you switch between the XFEL mode and the standard mode.
