Minutes of the EMI/EMC Working Group Meeting on 30/01/06 ======================================================== Present: H.-T.Duhme, M.Görler, P.Göttlicher, H.Kapitza, T.Klimkovich, ======= K.Rehlich, H.Schlarb, L.Steffen, H.Weddig, K.Wittenburg Presentations: ============= The meeting presentations have been combined into one PDF file which was put into the EMI Elogbook: 1. EMI Steering Group Report (Herbert Kapitza) 2. Report by Mike Thuot (Pulse Cable Issues) (HK for Hans-Jörg Eckoldt) 3. XFEL Database for Cables - EMI View (Peter Göttlicher) Next meeting: Mon 27/02/06 11:00 30b/459 Comments: ======== 2. This was the continuation of Jörg's talk from the last meeting. The transparencies were already included in the minutes of that meeting. 3. There was quite some discussion about the proposed XFEL cable database: - The usefulness of a detailed cable database was unanimously acknowledged, but doubts were raised that could be reliably kept up to date. - Having a solid plan and rigid rules might be more important in the first place. Actually a list or database could follow from that. - A rule could be that any cabling order has also to be approved by EMI Control. - The Facility Management System being set up by IPP would be a good place to put cable information. - K.Wittenburg mentioned cable documentation efforts which were stopped by lack of funds. He agreed to report more details in the next meeting. AOB- M.Görler proposed to add a USV (UPS) to the - not yet existing - pool of EMC tools. - K.Wittenburg mentioned a post mortem system debugging feature which is currently being implemented for PETRA. It delivers the system state just before failure. Is that also interesting for XFEL? It requires more efforts by equipment builders. H.Kapitza
